1) What book is so happy and sweet that it warms your heart?
I am going to say right off that bat: A Different Blue by Amy Harmon. I finished this book last month and it is possibly the best book I have read that has completely blown my mind. I reference this book so much to my friends and I have guiltily spoiled it for them as well. The romance, friendship, and overall journey of Blue is so warm and touching it makes me feel all fuzzy inside.
I actually have 2. The first one is Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson which has a really haunting dark blue cover, but there is also an edition out there with a pretty simple and enchanting white cover. My second option has the word "white" in it, but the cover itself is not exactly white and that is the lovely Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. I was fortunate enough to watch the theater version while it was still out and while it wasn't the best in stagecraft, the music, acting, storyline was amazing. The book proved to be awesome as well and is probably one of my favorite "classics."
I need a onesie in my life...but other than that, I would either attack The Game of Thrones by George RR. Martin because that is one heck of a book or Inheritance by Christopher Paolini which is the last book of the Inheritance (Eragon) series and the only book that I have yet to read. I loved Eragon and Eldest and while Brisingr wasn't the best, I am still so excited to read it. So give me that book any day with some hot chocolate!
Wow, that is actually really hard. Um, I would either go with Grace Anderson from How I Lost You by Janet Gurtler because she's is a trained paintballer so that would definitely be interesting (I would so lose) or the sisters from Entwined by Heather Dixon because there are twelve of them so that is definitely going to fun.
This is really really hard. I don't often find stories that have endings that I don't like. I think I would choose Captured by Erica Stevens. I absolutely loved the book and I know from reading the blurbs of the books on the rest of the series that everything turns out fine, but the ending was such a cliffhanger it was not okay in my point of view. The last sentence pretty much tore my heart out and smashed it into pieces and left me crying with despair. If we could just get rid of those last few pages and make it a little less heart wrenching, but still have the same intent, my heart would be grateful.
6) What book is so close to your heart that you would gift it to someone at Christmas who hasn’t read before but wants to get into reading?
This is really simple, I would choose BOTH books in the Company of Angels series by Stephanie Chong: Where Demons Fear to Tread and The Demoness of Waking Dreams. I flat out loved both books and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for some nice romance with touching hidden messages that will really make an impact on you. This isn't part of the question but I would definitely gift it to Claudz because she hasn't had the time to read anything in a while and I think it would be an amazing icebreaker back into the world of books. <3
So that is it for my tag, I hoped you guys liked it. I would definitely recommend all the books I have listed so be sure to check them out! That is it for this post, my brain feels a lot lighter and less stressed! :) I will talk to you guys in my next update which I believe is tomorrow with the great finale review of the last book in S.M. Reine's Seasons of the Moon Quartet! So see you then!
Foreverly Obsessed,
Riv
