Summary:
The Perfect Boyfriend picks up right where we left Reagan and Ian in The Boyfriend List.
As their friendship blossoms quickly into a steamy romance, Reagan and Ian have to learn to navigate their shifting relationship...and everything that entails. But their newfound bliss doesn’t come without a few unexpected challenges.
In the midst of realizing just how sweet the romance can be between them, and all the benefits of their new dynamic, Reagan is informed that her ideal situation has changed. Not only will she need to begin taking on more classes to speed up her graduation date, but she’ll also have to start looking for a job to supplement her fading income. Meanwhile, Ian has chosen to pull out of school once his father is diagnosed with a terminal illness in order to help manage the family business and spend time with him while he still can. But he wrestles with the guilt of leaving Reagan behind, and the pressure of his new responsibilities.
As the two meet their new challenges head-on, they’ll be forced to discover whether or not they’re as compatible as lovers as they were as friends. With their focus pulled in so many directions, will they have what it takes to keep a long distance relationship alive? Can Ian prove that he’s still be the perfect boyfriend, or will they fold to statistics under the growing tensions of their lives? Throw in some manipulative exes, a new boss with an inflated ego, and a co-worker from hell and the two have a recipe for either a fairy tale ending, or a complete disaster.
The Perfect Boyfriend is a New Adult Romance about trust, love, and discovering the true depths of personal strength.

Hey guys! Welcome to my tour stop for The Perfect Boyfriend tour! As always, check out the tour schedule linked above with the banner!

The Perfect Boyfriend is the second book in Renee Novelle's boyfriend series.  Confession time: I actually have not read the first book: The Boyfriend List but I did do a blitz on it a couple of months ago. To be honest, I didn't know this was the sequel...I looked at the synopsis, the author sounded familiar and I just went for it. Definitely should have checked, but to be honest, it didn't affect me that much. The only difference it would've made was my reaction towards all the cutesy stuff in the beginning. I thought it was a friendship that blossomed into romance not just flat out cutesy stuff straight from the beginning. But either way, it was still super easy to piece together the story from the first book and enjoy the story.

I actually don't want to dive too much into the story because I don't want to spoil the first book for anyone planning on reading it. So this is going to be a bit general.

My favorite part of the story was seeing the characters grow. Now that Reagan and Ian's relationship are somewhat stable and steady, they really start to build their relationship. With life's twist and turns, they face the challenges together pretty well considering the fact that their relationship is still growing. When faced with these challenges, you get the see the characters mature and learning different life values that will affect them for the rest of the life. All good things of course. I think the most important "growth factor" was seeing them learning how not to jump into conclusions and trusting that love is real and it's something that is obtainable if you work towards it. Along with the problems, again, their relationship grows and it's really adorable and beautiful at the same.

Overall, definitely recommend, I need to pick up the first ASAP because I really liked the writing style and after connecting so much with Reagan and Ian, I want to see how it all started. So yes, do pick it up, it's a really well written story and it's definitely an enjoyable read!
