Lover Awakened

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Of these, Zsadist is the most terrifying member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.
A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion—until he rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society.
Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her…
It's a pretty intense book. Bella and Zsadist first meet in Rhage and Mary's story, and from the beginning, an attraction sparks that they have been denying until this book.  Zsadist starts out as a ruthless killer determined to protect the female he's fallen for, but refuses to accept the fact. Slowly, a different side of him appears, you see his broken side and the demons that he fights against for sanity. Bella has been mistaken for some crazy lesser's wife and after the trauma, the only person she really wants to see is Zsadist. Feeling drawn to him but unknown why, she tries to get him to open up to her. Zsadist fights this for as along as he can, but eventually he gives in, his heart, his soul, his mind and body to her. But sadly, he doesn't admit it until the end of the book. The ending is perfect for all you romance freaks. Zsadist learns to read and write for one purpose in mind only, to write 3 words to Bella: I Love You. The last chapter, the "epilogue" allows you to catch a glimpse of their child and the change in Zsadist. So freaking adorable.

Summer Nights

Horse whisperer Shane Stryker is done with passion. This time around, he's determined to meet someone who will be content with the quiet life of a rancher's wife. And the fiery, pint-size redhead who dazzles him at the local bar definitely does not fit the bill.
Small-town librarian Annabelle Weiss has always seen herself as more of a sweetheart than a siren, so she can't understand why Shane keeps pushing her away. Shane has formed the totally wrong impression of her but only he can help her with a special event for the next Fool's Gold festival. And maybe while he's at it, she can convince him to teach her a few things about kissing on hot summer nights, too—some lessons, a girl shouldn't learn from reading a book!
It was so freaking cute, I'm up on a school night reading this and crying. The ending was adorable, I won't spoil it but I will say this quote by Shane: If you're going to cut out anyone's heart, it's going to be mine.
GAH!! XD So cute...
